Suspect arrested in attack on DhiFM ex-CEO
The attacker had threatened Masood on multiple counts, which were reported to authorities

A man has been arrested for attacking DhiFM’s former CEO, Masood Hilmy.
In a video circulating around social media, the attacker is seen on a motorcycle, with a metal rod which was used to attack the former CEO of DhiFM.
Masood was also on his motorcycle, with his wife around 9:30 on Tuesday night. In the circulating video, the assailant approaches Masood on his motorcycle and proceeds to assault him with the metal rod. The attack was aimed at his arm, which sustained an injury due to the blow.
Masood is currently receiving treatment at Fonadhoo Health Center.
The assailant was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, at 02:18am.
Prior to this attack, the 36-year-old assaulter had threatened the former CEO and spouse on multiple counts. This was reported to the police as well, however, no action was taken against him.
The man had torched Masood’s car last December as well.
Further investigations are ongoing regarding this case.
