Ministry of Education has informed for all school employees to complete their Covid-19 vaccination doses, before the new academic year commences.
This was announced in order to make all education facilities a safe place for students when regular school hours commence once more, as the new academic year begin is set to begin next month.
The ministry notes that a majority of employees at schools are fully vaccinated already.
Ministry of Education is also discussing arrangements to make access to the vaccines easier for teachers, as well as work on accessibility in outlying atolls.
While the ministry has asked all schools employees to complete vaccination before schools reopen, those who are experiencing trouble in accessibility to the vaccine have been asked to inform ministry through a written document, as soon as possible.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, a drastic change was brought to the academic calendar. Usually commencing in early January, the beginning of the academic year has been changed to August 10.
