Hassan Nashid has been appointed Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the appointment on Monday afternoon.
The new Deputy Minister served as the General Manager of Horizon Fisheries Private Limited and filled the position of Principal under the Ministry of Education, prior to his appointment.
Nashid was also employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Protocol Officer, as well as an Attaché of Consular Affairs at the High Commission of Maldives in Sri Lanka.
The new appointee has a Bachelor of Education in English Language Teaching from Moray House College of Education in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Further, Nashid is also seeking education from a post-graduate programme at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
