Ahmed Fathih has been appointed to the post of Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the appointment on Monday.
The new Deputy Fisheries Minister holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry from the University of Technology Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister for Fisheries, Fathih filled the position of an Immigration Officer at Maldives Immigration.
With the most recent appointment, the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture currently has three Deputy Ministers; Ali Majid, Hassan Nashid and Fathih.
