Former President and current Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed is off life support and breathing on his own, reveals his family.
In a Twitter post on Saturday afternoon, a family member of the injured former president revealed that he was able to exchange a few words with his family after regaining consciousness.
The family member cited the former president to have told his parents that he is “good”.
Another family member confirmed to RaajjeMV that he is doing well, the doctors are very happy with the recovery progress.
In a few words Nasheed had promised to “come back stronger”.
ADK Hospital will be holding a press briefing regarding Nasheed’s condition at 2:30pm and stated that they will be providing the appropriate details of his condition and treatment as soon as they are able to.
Following the terrorist attack targeting the former president, that shook the capital city on Thursday night, Nasheed underwent four critical, life-saving surgeries for injuries to his head, chest, abdomen and limbs over 16 hours.
