A foreign detainee has committed suicide while under police custody.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the foreign national was being detained at the Vilimalé Custodial Facility.
The incident is to have occurred in the late hours of May 2.
Further details regarding the detainee suicide have not been disclosed by the authorities.
