Spokesperson for the President's Office Mabrook Azeez has clarified that the Solih administration would always desire to maintain the coalition.

Spokesperson Mabrook made the remarks in press conference held on Sunday evening, confirming that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was now in discussions with other political leaders on the future of the coalition and running the government.

Highlighting that the incumbent administration always desired to maintain the coalition agreement, Mabrook noted that the vision had remained unchanged despite rumors that President Solih will be shuffling the cabinet drastically in the coming days.

However, Mabrook went on to add that the government was being forced to improve the quality of services being provided, and that the need had become especially apparent following the Local Council and Women's Development Committee Elections held earlier in April.

Mabrook added that the government's main goal was to improve the quality of services, and that work was been planned in order to achieve that effect. Mabrook stated that the government would mainly prioritize their manifesto and President Soilh's electoral pledges.

In referring to imminent changes to President Solih's cabinet, Spokesperson Mabrook stated that appointing more ministers, and shuffling current members of the cabinet to different positions, was not a permanent solution, and that they represented a small percentage of the overall work being done to resolve persisting issues,

Mabrook went on to state that President Solih held a vision to fulfill his administration's electoral pledges as soon as possible, and to bring about degree of progress that would be accepted by citizens of the Maldives. Spokesperson Mabrook stated that it would not be possible to share further details before the conclusion of talks and discussions among leaders of the coalition being held at this time.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was elected into government by the coalition, and representatives of the coalition, which includes Adhaalath Party (AP), Maldives Reform Movement (MRM), and Jumhooree Party (JP), were allocated ministerial positions from the cabinet under the coalition agreement.
