Youth organizers will be hosting a peaceful protest this Labor Day, against sexual harassment experienced by workers in their place of employment.
The peaceful protest is being organized by the "Rise Up MV Movement" and will be held in the Maldives' capital city on Labor Day. The protest will take place at 8:45pm on Saturday evening at the Rasfannu area.
"Rise Up MV" have revealed that the peaceful protest will take place according to Covid-19 health and safety restrictions as stated by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
"Rise Up MV" organizers have also revealed that the purpose of Saturday night's peaceful Labor Day protest is to demand justice for sexual harassment experienced by workers in their place of employment across different sectors in the Maldives. The protestors have also demanded that institutions work harder to provide healthy, safe and equal-opportunity work environments for workers in the Maldives.
Organizers have requested that as many workers participate in the event as possible, which will be held in Rasfannu at 8:45pm on Saturday evening.
