Youth being treated for injuries sustained from falling glass panel passes away

The individual who was hospitalized after being trapped under a falling glass panel near Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) on 7 January has passed away while receiving treatment for severe orthopedic injuries.
Deceased is 27-year-old Abdulla Asim from N. Landhoo, who passed away early in the morning on Saturday after succumbing to severe orthopedic injuries sustained after being trapped under the falling glass panel.
Asim had been injured after a glass panel slipped and fell off a container.
Authorities had cut into the sides of the container to free him, but he had sustained severe injuries in the accident and had been receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) at the time of his death.
An official for MPL has also confirmed the news of Asim's passing, funeral prayers for whom will be held after Dhuhr at Aasaharaa on Saturday.
