The Supreme Court has gone into recess.

The top court via a statement said that it will be in recess from December 1, after the last working day of November, to 3rd January 2021.

While in recess, courts will still accept cases and handle administrative tasks and the Supreme Court still has the authority to conclude deadline-driven cases and hold hearings to proceed with other cases in a timely manner.

The Supreme Court is also required to end its recess in case of a state of emergency.

There are seven members on the Supreme Court Bench; Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan as well as Justices Dr. Azmiralda Zahir, Dr. Aisha Shujoon Mohamed, Husnu Al Suood, Mahaz Ali Zahir, Ali Rasheed and Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim.
