There is no indication of foul play involved in the death of the British man whose body was found in capital Male’ City’s lagoon.

The 58-year-old’s body was discovered at around 9:43am on Tuesday, and was pronounced dead on arrival at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

Police on Wednesday said that CCTV footage shows that the man had gone for a swim on his own at 9:29am, as well as that the footage spotted the man floating in the lagoon shortly after.

While an additional body was discovered in the Galolhu ward of the capital on Tuesday, police have not disclosed any further details on the case.
