The council of Kulhudhuffushi City has announced changes to the protocols under which travelers to the island may request permission for home quarantine.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the city council revealed that the protocols under which those traveling to the island amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic may request for home quarantine, have been amended.

From Tuesday, travelers have been sought to acquire permission and register through the ‘Haalu Belun’ portal three days before the date of departure, when requesting for travel.

The announcement further urges those traveling to the island, to give the council adequate time to check the residence in which the individual requests to quarantine themselves at, as well as to prepare the relevant documents.

The amendments will ensure that the council is able to provide services for the people, at the same speed and efficiently, said the council, which added that they had been facing challenges due to inadequate time to approve quarantine requests if they are requested the same day.

In order to make the process faster, the council has urged travelers to collect all required documents and send them through Viber to 9551312 or the council’s official e-mail address.
