It is of utmost importance to enhance waste collection and disposal services in Maldives capital, Malé City, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
VP Naseem made this remark during discussions on improving municipal waste management in Malé City, with stakeholder agencies at the President’s Office on Wednesday morning.
As such, the vice president noted that it is important to enhance the waste collection and disposal services offered by Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO).
During the meeting, stakeholders briefed the vice president regarding plans to continue uninterrupted services as well as plans to upgrade their waste collection services.
Naseem was also briefed on the progress of the joint efforts by authorities to improve the waste management situation in the congested capital region.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Environment Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan, senior officials from the ministry, Minister at the President’s Office, Ahmed Naseem, and senior officials from Malé City Council and WAMCO attended the meeting.
