Stressed on the importance of staying active and adopting healthier lifestyles in order to beat heart diseases

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged the public to stay active and adopt healthier lifestyles.

In a Twitter post in commemoration of ‘World Heart Day’, the president stressed on the importance of staying active and adopting healthier lifestyles in order to beat heart diseases, while weathering the storm of the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic.

This needs to be done especially since the pandemic has slowed down the pace of life and brought stress and anxiety to daily experiences. As such, it is of utmost importance to ensure citizens stick to healthier choices and active lifestyles during such draining times.

The pandemic surfaced in the island nation on March 7 and since then, a number of patients have been dealing with complications due to underlying health issues.

The pandemic has taken 34 lives in the country thus far.

The government is implementing as number of measures to ensure those at a higher risk of the virus remain safe from the infection, through preventative measures and strict guidelines.
