Maldives former President, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has recovered from Covid-19.
Gayoom announced this via Twitter on Monday, saying that he is now back home from hospital.
The 83-year-old former leader who ran the nation for 30 years revealed that he had tested positive for the infection, on August 25.
He was transferred to Dharumavantha Hospital the same night.
The next day, Gayoom thanked all for the well wishes following Covid-19 diagnosis and revealed that he was feeling “reasonably well.”
Incumbent President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had wished him a speedy recovery.
