Maldives Media Council (MMC) has opened nominations for this year’s journalism awards, with two new categories.

While a total of 11 categories have been announced, the new ones are investigative journalism and environmental journalism.

The other categories are; politics, legal, social, business and economy and sport categories as well as photojournalism, video journalism, feature/report and most promising journalist.

Those that wish to submit nominations are to do so before 1:30pm on September 24.

The journalism awards have been conferred annually since 2014.
