MNDF issues travel warning over bad weather
Transport service providers reminded to keep up to date on weather conditions
Scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected over the country
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has urged caution to sea travelers due to the continuous adverse weather conditions throughout the country.
In a statement on Thursday, MNDF noted that the Maldives Meteorological Service predicts bad weather conditions to continue across all regions in the country.
Urging against traveling unless necessary, MNDF reminded all transport service providers to keep up to date on weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers, as well as to ensure that all safety rules and standards are being followed as well as other additional safety requirements.
It also reminded vessel operators to ensure that they are not carrying over the weight limit, as well as to practice extra caution when traveling at night.
The weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow show scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms across the country.
