President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent the names of applicants for the vacant positions at the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), for parliamentary consideration.
The names were forwarded on Wednesday.
The President’s Office opened the application for four membership posts at HRCM on July 6, following the resignation of three members as well as one member’s term will expire on September 12.
The three members -Aminath Enas, Aishath Afreen Mohamed, and Moosa Ali Kaleyfaanu- resigned in July amid impeachment motions at the Peope’s Majlis.
Vice President Mohamed Zahid was removed from position through a parliamentary vote, in late July.
The Human Rights Commission Act states that HRCM must comprise of five members.
