With nearly 200 recoveries from the Covid-19 infection reported on Saturday, Maldives Covid-19 recoveries have reached 3,208.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that 107 new cases of the infection were reported by 6pm, Saturday.
Three of the over 100 cases were reported from outlying islands.
The new cases include 73 Maldivians, 29 Bangladeshi nationals, three Indian nationals, and one each from Philippines and Sri Lanka.
This has pushed the country’s Covid-19 tally to 5,679.
Maldives currently has 2,449 active cases of the infection, with 146 patients hospitalized for treatment and 1,518 receiving treatment at isolation facilities.
A recent surge in cases being reported led the authorities to implement stricter measures, including a seven-hour curfew in the Greater Malé Region effective between 10pm and 5am.
