The government has completed the work on the futsal pitch in Kudarikilu island in Baa atoll.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment conducted the work following an announcement by the island council.

The ministry revealed that about MVR 1.23 million was spent for the project, tasked to Heights Company Private Limited.

Under the scope of the project, lights were also installed in the futsal pitch.

In a Twitter post announcing the completion of the project, Minister Ahmed Mahloof revealed that the project was carried out as per the requests from the island’s youth.

He expressed hope to see the pitch being utilized by both men and women of the island and expressed gratitude for the island council and youth for their corporation in completing the project.

A number of development projects initiated by the ministry are nearing completion, across a number of islands.

Some of the completed projects include futsal pitches across a number of islands, revealed the ministry which noted that a number of projects will be conducted within the next few days as well.
