The office of the Maldives Transport Authority has been moved, to the former ‘Star Cinema’.
According to the authority, its services will continue at the first floor of the building from August 4.
The Maldives Transport Authority’s office was previously in Huravee Building. There had been numerous complaints over the lack of space there as well as the condition of the office, both from employees and those seeking services at the institutions located at the Huravee Building.
While the former Star Cinema building had been recently renovated, a Bank of Maldives (BML) office is located there as well.
RaajjeMV understands that the building belongs to veteran film maker, Aslam Rasheed.
The Maldives Transport Authority ensures the enforcement of the government’s policies related to the safety of land, sea and air transportation. It issues vehicle registrations and licenses, and handles all work related to transportation.
