State-run Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) is to conduct Covid-19 testing on all patients admitted for treatment.
The decision was reached after staff members and patients at the hospital tested positive for the global Covid-19 pandemic, the hospital revealed via a statement.
The statement goes on to read that there are currently no patients admitted for treatment at the ICU, which has been closed off as a precautionary measure.

Should an emergency arise for critical patients, IGMH will proceed with the required treatment without waiting for the Covid-19 test results, after implementing the required safety measures, said the hospital.
A 39-year-old Indonesian cancer patient seeking treatment at the hospital, tested positive for the virus and passed away on Thursday, following which tests were conducted on staff and patients who were identified as contacts.
As such, two patients who were seeking treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital as well as four staff members tested positive for the infection and have been transferred to the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital since.
IGMH stated that all of them are in stable condition.
