Covid-19: 43-yo Filipino patient dies in Maldives

Maldives has confirmed a ninth Covid-19 related death.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced this via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

It said that a Filipino male, 43 years, being treated at the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital passed away in the afternoon.

While this is the ninth Covid-19 related death in the Maldives, it is the first Filipino to succumb to the virus in the island nation.

Maldives has confirmed 2,337 Covid-19 cases thus far, and only one Filipino has tested positive as per the Health Ministry’s Covid-19 Dashboard; the individual tested positive on June 15.
