Colonel Ibrahim Hilmy has been appointed as the Central Area Commander of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).
During a special ceremony held at the MNDF headquarters, Bandaara Koshi to make the appointment official, the colonel was handed over his letter of appointment by Major General Abdulla Shamaal.
Vice Chief of Defense Force, Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef also took part in the ceremony.
Hilmy’s appointment comes due to his predecessor, Colonel Mohamed Ibrahim’s posting duty term having come to an end.
Colonel Mohamed Ibrahim was appointed as the MNDF Central Area Commander during February 2018.
