The ministry reiterated commitment to follow through with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s vision to provide housing for a number of individuals under the Hiyaa project.

We are working to finalize a list of individuals who were granted 7,000 flats, by July. The aim to complete the units by September is to follow through what the president said and disburse the units by the end of this year”

Currently, the ministry is evaluating whether the individuals in the drafted list currently have any housing units of land.

The work will be completed by the time government offices open and the ministry is currently checking and cross checking data, said the minister.

A committee has also been compiled to determine whether the previous administration of now incarcerated former president Abdulla Yameen had been just in issuing the 7,000 flats.
