Customers may book their appointments through SMS under a special format

The country’s national bank, Bank of Maldives (BML) will begin issuing debit and credit cards through their Customer Service Centers in the Maldives capital, Malé City in the beginning of June.

The bank revealed that card collections will be made available from June 1 onward and that customers may make appointment for collection. Customers have also been urged to bear in mind to maintain social and physical distancing under the instructions of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) when arriving at the centers.

BML is set to provide this service for 300 customers per day, starting Monday and the bank also provides delivery services for the elderly and vulnerable customers after they request for it via SMS.

As such, customers may book their appointments through SMS, in a special format under which the customer is to send “CSC” followed by their ID card number, name and address in four separate rows, to 455.

Once the appointment is approved, customers will receive the required police permit through SMS so that they may arrive at the Customer Service Center for the scheduled time.

Customers have also been urged to use face masks, use hand sanitizer and bring their own pens when coming for appointments.

Further, atoll branches will also be open for services that are unavailable online or through ATMs, from June 1 onward.

BML will also be opening Malé City branches and service centers for services via appointments, from June 8.

In addition, the bank will be providing essential services on three days, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday as before, from 9:30am to 2pm. Appointments can be made a day prior and the services will be available three days a week from June 1 – 13.

The services that have been made available are international transfers, payroll processing, cheque processing for ATM cheques and local bank transfers.
