Authorities have compiled a Clinical Advisory Team that will monitor the status of Covid-19 patients being treated in the Maldives.

During Wednesday night’s press briefing at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)’s Dr. Moosa Murad revealed that the team has begun work to manage and monitor Covid-19 patients from all regions of the country.

The team’s responsibilities include providing the required instructions and recommendations in related to Covid-19 cases as well as providing recommendations to resolve issues that may arise in a place where a patient is located.

Highlighting that the government has allocated the Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumalé as the primary National Covid-19 Treatment Center, Dr. Murad stated that the patients receiving treatment at the hospital will be monitored by the Clinical Advisory Team as well.

Further, it was revealed that the team will be active on a round-the-clock basis from next week on.

This means that the team will be answering phone calls round the clock and providing recommendations to resolve issues similarly, said Dr. Murad.

The doctor went on to highlight the importance of monitoring different issues that may arise for these patients and providing immediate transfer of these patients if required, in the treatment of Covid-19 patients in the country.
