The council of Hulhudhuffaaru island, Raa atoll, has warned its residents that they will be quarantined if they are caught out on the streets after 10pm.
The Covid-19 task force stationed on the island has made several decisions in order to maintain the safety and security of island residents, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Employees at the council secretariat, social support desk, FENAKA branch and workers at the island’s health center will be active in carrying out the work. Individuals have also been urged to reach out to the health center through telephone if they are feeling unwell or require urgent medications.
Warning residents of stringent measures if they are seen out on the roads after 10pm, the council noted that they will be issued a warning the first time round and quarantined at home if they repeat it.
Industrial work will be allowed between 8am to 4pm and local shops will be providing services from 9am to 11am and 2pm to 5pm.
Delivery services will be provided from 8pm to 10pm as shops will be closed at night, said the council.
Further, local cafés are allowed to deliver food to households from 5pm to 12am.
The residents have been urged by the council to cooperate with these measures, taken to maintain the safety of the island community during these challenging times.
The island council also pushed its residents to follow instructions set by the authorities and health experts for the welfare of the people.
