18 places under monitoring as contact tracing continues
This includes seven islands
Contact tracing is being carried out extensively
The task force estimated the confirmed cases to rise to the peak within the next 14 days

The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has revealed that 18 places have been brought under monitoring as contact tracing is conducted.

This was revealed by the spokesperson for the Covid-19 task force, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz during Sunday’s press briefing.

As contact tracing continues, seven islands are includes among these 18 places.

The islands are:

  1. Thuraakunu, Haa Alif,
  2. Ihavandhoo, Haa Alif,
  3. Uligan, Haa Alif,
  4. Thakandhoo, Haa Alif,
  5. Hoarafushi, Haa Alif,
  6. Hirimaradhoo, Haa Dhaal and
  7. Vaikaradhoo, Haa Dhaal.

Other locations include:

  1. Gaakoshi 03/6
  2. Ameen Staff Block,
  3. A salon near Sheesha Showroom
  4. Climate in Mahchangoalhi, (Apartment one on the third floor)
  5. Aanooraanee in Galolhu, (Apartment 4B)
  6. Your Taste,
  7. Coshark in Galolhu
  8. Luxury Shop,
  9. All shops adjacent to the north harbor,
  10. Noofaru express boat and
  11. Fathaha Home (infront of Luxury shop).

While the task force estimated the confirmed cases to rise to the peak within the next 14 days, 16 cases were reported on Sunday alone which brought the total number of confirmed cases to 51. This includes 14 Maldivians, 15 Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian nationals.

Individuals have been urged to practice extra caution since the emergence of the first positive case in Malé on Wednesday.
