As part of its efforts to expand its services across the nation, the country’s national bank, Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced self-service banking ATM centers in Gaaf Alif atoll.
BML made the reveal via Twitter, adding that the centers were established in Maamendhoo and Nilandhoo islands.
This allows individuals and businesses to deposit and transfer money on a 24/7 basis in addition to cash withdrawal facilities.
With these developments, the atoll currently has six operational self-service banking ATM centers alongside a branch and self-service banking ATM center in Villingili island of the same atoll.
So thus, self-service banking ATM centers have been established across six islands of the atoll including Kolamaafshi, Dhaandhoo, Maamendhoo, Nilandhoo, Kooddoo and Gemanafushi.
Customers may also withdraw cash through the cash agents stationed in all inhabited islands in the atoll, reveals the bank.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BML Tim Sawyer stated that the current Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation across the globe has proven to pose very challenging times. Despite these challenges, Sawyer revealed that the bank will still put in their best to provide banking services to the people.
BML has so far established 55 self-service banking centers across the country with a nationwide network of 38 branches across 20 atolls, the bank also has 116 ATMs, 5,400 point of sale merchants, 277 cash agents and a full suite of digital banking services.
