Authorities have revealed that the search for the missing 30-year-old Imam from JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa is ongoing and there has been no sign of him, thus far.
Media official at the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), Ibrahim Azim told RaajjeMV that a team of coastguard divers has covered a large region in operation for the missing Indian national, to no avail thus far.
Divers continue to scan the surface as well as depths of the water in the operation, every day since he was reported missing on 5 April.
Sources reported that he was last seen on the resort’s supply jetty, having a conversation on the phone.
MNDF has since revealed that CCTV footage shows the man diving into the water afterwards.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) is also investigating the 30-year-old’s disappearance.
The man was wearing a white shirt and a pair of grey trousers when he was last seen.
The coastguard has urged sea travelers as well as islands in the region to provide assistance in the authorities’ efforts to find the missing Imam.
