119 Maldivians violated curfew on Saturday
 
Police have stated that curfew violators will be fined MVR 1000 after the first warning.
 
This includes 119 Maldivians and 22 foreign nationals.

A total of 141 curfew violations were recorded on Saturday, reveals spokesperson for the government's Covid-19 taskforce.

Speaking at the National Emergency Operation Centre's (NEOC) daily press briefing on Saturday, Mabrook stressed that the curfew was implemented for an important reason.

He referred to statistics shared by police and announced that a total of 141 curfew violations were recorded on Saturday. This included 119 Maldivians and 22 foreign nationals.

Mabrook went onto appeal for the public support and urged all citizens to remain indoors during curfew hours.

Police have stated that curfew violators will be fined MVR 1,000 after the first warning. The curfew declared for an indefinite period of time began on Thursday. No one is allowed to be outside from 5-8 pm every day except for permit holders.
