One Maldivian after the person developed Covid-19-like symptoms from the resort

Constance Moofushi Resort has been placed under monitoring.

This was revealed by the spokesperson for all things Covid-19, Mabrook Aziz during a press conference on Saturday night, where he revealed that samples are being taken from one Maldivian after the person developed Covid-19-like symptoms.

Contact tracing is ongoing, said Mabrook.

Further, he revealed that the samples that were taken from Keyodhoo Island Resort came back negative and that monitoring measures on the island have been lifted.

Out of the total of 1,491 samples taken up until Saturday, 19 have tested positive, 1,467 testes negative and results are pending for five samples.

Further, Mabrook revealed that a total of 833 individuals remain in quarantine facilities, with 12 currently in isolation.

One individual was taken into a quarantine facility from home-isolation on Saturday as well.

In addition, the spokesperson stated that up until Saturday, a total of 5,800 individuals have consulted at the various flu clinics establishes across the nation, 91 having consulted on Saturday alone.

As of Saturday, there are 19 confirmed cases in the Maldives, out of which four are currently active cases whereas 13, all foreign, patients have recovered from the disease.
