Covid-19: samples taken from five resorts test negative
 
There have been 17 positive cases in Maldives thus far
 
There are currently no islands under monitoring
 
Monitoring measures on all five resorts have been lifted

Authorities have revealed that samples taken from five different resorts have all tested negative to the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The reveal was made via the Health Protection Agency via Twitter on Monday, where the authority revealed that samples were taken from The Standard Huruvalhi Maldives, The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah, Taj Exotica Resort, LUX* North Male Atoll Resort and Filitheyo Island Resort earlier for testing.

As such, all samples taken from these five resorts have since come back negative.

Following this monitoring measures placed on these islands have been lifted, with this, there are currently no resorts under monitoring.

As of Monday there have been 17 positive cases in the Maldives out of which 13 have recovered, the first two cases emerged from Kuredu Island Resort after an Italian tourist who vacationed there tested positive after returning home. Since then, the most cases have been reported from Kuredu, totaling five and then two each from Sandies Bathala, Kuramathi and Anantara Dhigu with four cases being reported from Island Safari 1.
