Covid-19: Male' City roads disinfected once again
 
The programme is a joint initiative by the Malé City Council and the MNDF
 
Regions congested with trash will also be cleaned under the programme
 
Chlorine-infused water is being used to disinfect the roads

On Saturday, Male' City roads were disinfected once again as a preventive measure against the spread of Covid-19.

The disinfection program in the Greater Male' region is a joint initiative by the Malé City Council and the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF). As such, roads of Male City had been disinfected under the programme last week as well.

Most of the disinfection work has been carried out using vehicles of the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service.

Speaking regarding the initiative, Malé City Mayor Shifa Mohamed has previously stated that they are focusing on two main things during the program, one is spraying chlorine-infused water all over the roads and the second is cleaning regions congested with trash.

She also revealed that palettes lining the entrances of residences will be moved as well.

Further, the mayor has assured that the no vehicles will be harmed in the disinfection process and pushed the people to do their part to keep the city clean.

In addition to Male' City, roads and public places in Villimale' and Hulhumale' have also been disinfected under the programme.
