Covid-19: gov't awaiting details of Maldivian patient in UAE
This is the first Maldivian to have been reported to have tested positive for Covid-19
Authorities are expecting to receive the statement some time on Thursday
UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention announced that a Maldivian national is among the 50 positive cases that emerged in the country on Tuesday

Authorities are expected to receive the details of the Maldivian national who tested positive to Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the United Arab Emirates, on Thursday.

Speaking to press at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) in Dharubaaruge on Thursday afternoon, government spokesperson for all things Covid-19, Mabrook Aziz revealed that this case can only be confirmed by the government once the government receives a statement from the middle-eastern nation.

Authorities are expecting to receive the statement some time on Thursday, said Mabrook.

As such, the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to acquire the related information in the case via the UAE government.

The ministry will be receiving the related documents on Thursday, Mabrook estimated.

UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention announced that a Maldivian national is among the 50 positive cases that emerged in the country on Tuesday.

The new cases were announced via a statement, which further read that four patients had recovered and new cases are among individuals who were identified as close contacts during contact tracing, of those who tested positive previously, alongside people who returned from abroad.

They are receiving the required treatment and are in good condition, revealed the government.

This is the first Maldivian to have been reported to have tested positive for Covid-19.
