A Maldivian national in JA Manafaru Maldives Resort is being tested for the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).
This was revealed by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Wednesday via Twitter.
The tweet reads that the Maldivian national has developed Covid-19-like symptoms and samples are to be taken.
The Maldivian has been placed under home-isolation and the monitoring measures are in place for the resort as well.
Thus far, there have been 13 confirmed cases in the Maldives; five from Kuredu Island Resort, where the first two cases emerged on 7 March, and two each from Sandies Bathala, Kuramathi, Anantara Dhigu and Island Safari.
All of the patients are foreigners and from resorts, five out of the 13 have since recovered and have been isolated for a 30-day period.
The first Maldivian to have tested positive to the disease was reported on Tuesday. The Maldivian was among the 50 positive cases reported from the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
