Tree Top Hospital in capital city Malé’s suburban extension Hulhumalé has opened a Flu Clinic.
The clinic is away from the in-patients at the In-Patients Clinics “IPD” and Out-Patients Clinics “OPD” Clinics at the hospital, at a safe space, especially designated for it.
Accordingly, the hospital has established a screening policy with the commencement of services at the Flu Clinic. Throughout the process, those with a fever or flu symptoms will be escorted to another region, through a different set of doors where they will be provided consultation.
The hospital revealed that this will ensure the safety of their other patients and control the spread of the flu.
Adequate services for patients have been made available through the clinic, such as recommendations for flu vaccinations.
Patients will also be transferred to adequate treatment facilities inside the hospital in accordance with the level of their illness, said the hospital.
The Flu Clinic will be open every day except for Fridays from 9am to 6pm, and individuals may seek out further details through their hotline, 3351610.
Also on Tuesday, the hospital introduced ImmunoHistoChemistry (IHC) testing for the first time in the Maldives.
This particular type of testing could diagnose several types of cancer and determine the best treatments for the patients, said the hospital.
