Amjad Musthafa appointed as new president of Employment Tribunal
 
Before Musthafa, Mohamed Zahir filled the position
 
Musthafa earlier served as the Vice Chairman and Commissioner of Elections Commission of Maldives
 
In addition, the president appointed a new member to the tribunal, Hassan Ibrahim

Amjad Musthafa has been appointed as the new president of the Employment Tribunal.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the appointment on Monday.

Musthafa earlier served as the Vice Chairman and Commissioner of Elections Commission of Maldives.

He also filled the post of Board Director of Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) prior to his appointment.

The new appointee attained a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University (UK), in Sri Lanka, and a Bachelor of Arts in Shari’ah and Law from the Islamic University of Maldives.

In addition, the president appointed a new member to the tribunal, Hassan Ibrahim.

Ibrahim earlier serves as the Head of Department, MBA course coordinator and lecturer at the MNU Business School.

Another position filled by Ibrahim include as the Director General at the Prosecutor General Office.

The newly appointed member holds a Masters in Management from Australian National University and a Bachelor of Arts in Shari’ah and Law from the Islamic University of Maldives.

Before Musthafa, Mohamed Zahir filled the position. He was appointed as the tribunal’s President during September 2019 after the resignation of Ahmed Shifau who was appointed during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen in May 2018.
