The country’s ninth Covid-19 case was confirmed on Friday, from Anantara Digu

The resorts are Sheraton Maldives Full Moon, Olhuveli Beach Resort, Bandos Island Resort, Meeru Island Resort and Dreamland Maldives

All suspected cases are foreigners and have been placed under isolation

Five new resorts were placed under monitoring, as well as a safari boat, following suspected Covid-19 cases.

While monitoring mechanisms were placed following suspected cases, the resorts are Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort and Spa, Olhuveli Beach and Spa Maldives, Bandos Island Resort, Meeru Island Resort and Spa, and Dreamland Maldives Resort.

All suspected cases are foreigners, but HPA did not reveal whether they are employees or guests at the resorts. They have been placed under home-isolation.

Monitoring mechanisms include travel restrictions which will be lifted if results come back negative, and contact tracing.

In addition, a total of four foreigners were placed under home-isolation in Six Sense Laamu on Friday after showing Covid-19 like symptoms. They are to have informed of having come into contact with an infected person prior to arrival in Maldives. However, the island is not under monitoring as the individuals are yet to develop any symptoms.

While the country’s ninth Covid-19 case was confirmed on Friday, from Anantara Digu, a close contact of the positive patient is being transferred to the isolation facility for testing and monitoring.

Furthermore, a safari boat -White Waves- is also being monitored as two foreigners are to be tested following Covid-19 like symptoms.
