Noku Maldives resort
A launch travelling to Noku Maldives Resort has capsized, killing one passenger on board.
According to the authorities, the incident was reported at 05:48 pm on Wednesday evening. The launch, carrying seven passengers, capsized near the reef surrounding the resort. One passenger, a 51-year-old Maldivian man, was pronounced dead at 07:50 pm that day.
Authorities reveal that the unconscious man was taken to the health centre at Manadhoo island, Noonu atoll. They further disclosed that the victim was an employee of Noku Maldives Resort.
Moreover, they stated that the resort had promptly dispatched a team on a dinghy to rescue the drowning man.
