The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed a new Permanent Secretary.
Aminath Shifana, former Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services was appointed during a special ceremony at the foreign ministry secretariat on Monday.
Extending congratulations to the new appointee, Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid took to Twitter, welcoming Shifana with full confidence that she will execute her responsibilities with “diligence and commitment”.
Shifana was previously employed at the foreign ministry, where she provided her services for about 11 years. She started her career at the ministry as a trainee, however, she reached the position of Deputy Director within the span of 11 years.
As such, FM Shahid stated that Shifana knows the procedures and practices of the ministry, very well.
Further, the minister extended deep appreciation to the former Permanent Secretary, Aminath Abdulla Didi for her dedicated services over many years.
Shifana has a Bachelors Degree and a Masters in Management and has worked in managerial positions in the government for a long time, including at the Attorney General’s office.
