A foundation stone laying ceremony has been held for a new courthouse in Baarah island of Haa Alif atoll.
According to the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA), the construction of the new courthouse was inaugurated by Judicial Administrator Dr Abdulla Nazeer at a special ceremony held on Saturday.
The ceremony was part on an ongoing trip by a delegation of senior officials from the DJA to all the courthouses of Haa Alif atoll, revealed the DJA.
They further add that this trip will also include a foundation stone laying ceremony for a new courthouse in Haa Alif Hoarafushi as well.
During the trip, the delegation is set to assess the courts in Haa Alif atoll and identify avenues to increase administrative efficiency in the courts, says the DJA.
