Police probing bomb threat by two intoxicated tourists

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun an investigation into a bomb threat made by two tourists at Velana International Airport (VIA).

Police revealed that the Switzerland national and the Senegal national arrived at the Velana International Airport for departure at 07:51 am on Sunday.

Both were under the influence of drugs when they threatened aviation officers for trying to check their luggage.

RaajjeMV understands that the two tourists were not arrested.

However, authorities have launched an investigation into the case.
