An aircraft from the Asian Academy of Aeronautics (AAA) has crashed during landing.
Citing the captain of the academy, Addu City’s Mayor Abdulla Sodiq told RaajjeMV that the flight crashed while the pilot was attempting to land as the nose of the flight was lowered beyond control.
Further, the Mayor highlighted that no injuries were reported in the incident, however, the flight, a Cessna 176 RG training flight, incurred several damages.
Some media outlets reported that the flight was being piloted by a student completing a Commercial Pilot License.
It was earlier revealed that the academy-run flight school will be relocated to the Maafaru International Airport, due to a hike in the lease of Addu International Airport.
The academy is currently based in Gan island of Addu City.
