Alcohol confiscated by the police in Fonadhoo
Three men have been arrested in Fonadhoo island of Shaviyani atoll in possession of alcohol.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that during an operation conducted on the night of 31st December 2019 at 22:20 (10:20 pm), one man was apprehended in possession of alcohol in the forest while two other men were arrested at the beach on the northern side of the island in an intoxicated state and in possession of alcohol as well.
Authorities seized a five-litre bottle and three 500ml bottles containing substances suspected to be alcohol from during the operation.
The incident is undergoing further investigation.
