Councilors from Komandoo island in Shaviyani atoll have briefed incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on development visions for their community.

While this was done during a meeting at the President’s Office on Sunday afternoon, councilors shared their constituents’ significant concerns and pressing issues facing the community.

Discussions revolved around plans for the island’s development and updates on the ongoing efforts being undertaken by the government in the island. Some of them include the project to relocate the powerhouse as well as the water and sewerage network project.

Other issues shared with the president include space limitations as well as challenges surfacing for proper waste management in Komandoo.

Having listened to concerns risen by the councilors, President Solih assured them that the government will hold discussions with the relevant ministries in order to address the issues facing the island community.

The president earlier promised that no island will be left behind in the government’s development agenda, and that development will reach every single corner of the nation.
