Addu Tertiary Hospital is to be opened within this month.
Health Minister Abdulla Ameen is to have given the assurance to former South-Hithadhoo constituency MP Ali Nizar, during a meeting.
The minister told RaajjeMV that all preparations to begin services at the tertiary hospital built at Addu City's Equatorial Conventional Center “is complete.”
Ameen had in November said that only the finishing touches were remaining at the hospital, noting that it is equipped with the necessary instruments and that a majority of staff have also been hired.
He had said that the hospital will be opened “with changes” which includes additional private rooms.
The 100-bed hospital is the first tertiary hospital to be established outside of Male' or Hulhumalé, and was assigned to Alia Construction (Pvt) Ltd by the previous administration in November 2016.
