Several bottles of alcohol held in police custody and confiscated during various operations have been destroyed by the police station in Gan district of southernmost Addu City.
Officers revealed that 53 alcohol bottles and a container were destroyed on Thursday, and all of them have been in police custody since 2016.
Some of the bottles were confiscated from tourists departing from Gan International Airport, revealed police.
Further, they revealed that the bottles were destroyed under the supervision of the relevant police committee and under the set legal procedure for it. The remaining quantity of alcohol and drugs will be destroyed, soon.
