President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited Girifushi island to observe the ongoing 21st National Cadet Camp.

As the Supreme Commander of Maldives National Cadet Corps, President Solih observed some of the classes that were carried out at the camp on Thursday.

He was also briefed about the progress of the camp during his visit.

While the camp began on 1 December, it is set to conclude on 12 December and is being held at the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s Training Center in Girifushi.

118 students from 32 schools across the country, 18 islands and 14 schools from capital city Malé are participating in the camp.

Further, four officers and 16 cadets from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal are also set to join the camp in accordance with the International Cadet Exchange Program.
